She did start the beef with Rock in 2016 when she publicly insulted him for hosting the 2016 Oscars in a video she posted. Her husband was not nominated that year for Concussion. A few prominent Black performers boycotted the 2016 Academy Awards for a lack of diversity in the nominees. Had he been nominated, I wonder if they would have been there...? And then Rock started the show with this, which I think still sticks in her craw. And I still think it is hilarious.
