Didion is one of my favorite writers.

…et another year of coverage. In other words, I have plunged right into the state of mind that drove Didion (and Faulkner and Fitzgerald, et al) to Hollywood, to get to feel a little taken care of, because otherwise, being a writer of books, and magazine stories, doesn’t provide you with that.
